P.A.S.T is an independently-owned Arizona based small business. Founded by David Stephen and Laurie Stephen P.A.S.T. offers cost effective archaeological services to a broad client base. With its focus on archaeological survey (Class I through III cultural resources inventories), archival or literature research, planning and consulting projects, P.A.S.T. is able to provide attentive, responsive, and timely services for cultural resource management projects.
P.A.S.T personnel are broadly experienced and well-informed about cultural resource regulations, policies and procedures of the municipalities within southern Arizona including the Town of Oro Valley and Marana, the City of Tucson and Pima County as well those at the state, and federal level (both Section 106 and 110 compliance).
David, a graduate of the University of Arizona, has been the senior archaeologist for P.A.S.T. since the firm's inception. He began his private sector work in 1968 and has pursued an archaeological career in both the private and educational sectors of the profession in Tucson since the early 1970s. His family moved to the southwest to homestead in the l890s. He has completed and been the principal investor on over 2,000 projects in Arizona. As an educator he has been the Director of the Archaeology Centre at Pima Community College and a member of the PCC anthropology/archaeology faculty since 1972. P.A.S.T. also provides consulting in geospatial applications to researchers, agencies, museums and universities.
